‘Tis the season for family fun and Christmas cheer! With the holiday season approaching, it’s time to start counting down to Christmas! One way to do this is with an advent calendar 12 days of Christmas. This calendar will add anticipation and excitement in the days leading up to December 25th. Here are some ideas on how your family can use an advent calendar 12 days of Christmas.
Day 1: Make cookies & hot cocoa — Get everyone in the kitchen baking their favorite holiday cookies, then sit down and enjoy a mug of hot cocoa with your treats!
Day 2: Decorate — Put on some fun music and have a decorating party. Hang wreaths, and string lights, set out figurines, or make homemade decorations together as a family.
Day 3: Watch a festive movie — Pick out one of your favorite holiday movies or watch something new you’ve never seen before as a family. Don’t forget to pop some popcorn or bake some snacks!
Day 4: Read books — Spend quality time snuggled up together reading stories about Santa Claus, reindeer, elves – anything that will get everyone into that magical Christmastime spirit!
Day 5: Take an outdoor adventure— Bundle up warmly and walk through town admiring all of the lights and decorations while enjoying each other’s company outside in nature.
Day 6: Visit friends & neighbors– Give back by visiting elderly people who may need extra company during this special season; drop off cards made by children or gifts brought from home with thoughtful notes attached expressing love from your entire family.
Day 7: Craft something special— Get creative making handmade gifts for friends & relatives using items found around your home such as pine cones collected on nature walks or old pieces of fabric used for wrapping paper (with glue sticks and scissors).
Day 8: Write letters– Have everyone write letters expressing what they are most thankful for this year; these can be sent out via snail mail or shared amongst those at home during gatherings over dinner tables throughout December (and beyond!).
Day 9: Go caroling– Gather friends & neighbors together singing traditional carols while walking through town adding extra joyousness with each step taken – don’t forget those bells jingling too!
Day 10:Give back- Lend helping hands by donating toys at local centers where they can be given away during holidays; offer service hours at soup kitchens serving food rather than celebrating yourself; collect canned goods from grocery stores donating them afterward where needed most…or offer kind words when those feel more appropriate than anything else being given away that day..
Day 11:Play games- Plan all kinds of game nights playing charades & board games like Monopoly (or Twister!) all night long after dinner has been served..and laughter is shared between rounds completed…nothing like getting silly when participating within teams vying against each other towards winning prizes awarded afterward.
Day 12 : Celebrate- All good things must come to an end but not without celebration first!! Throw parties, where reminiscing occurs amongst guests sharing stories heard throughout the year whilst looking forward towards New Year’s resolutions created collaboratively right before midnight, strike welcoming January 1st ringing its bell loudly announcing arrival…so why not keep date night alive till then?!!
Enjoy these special moments spent amongst loved ones making memories that last forevermore.
