Loss is the most difficult part of living and even though we know God has prepared a place for us and its beautiful… those of us who have been left behind can be left feeling completely and utterly broken. This kind of grief can be hard to look upon but it is God’s will that we share in one another’s suffering, offering comfort and kindness to those who weep. That is exactly what condolences do. These messages of condolences can help you when you are not sure how to voice your sympathy, care and concern. Send them in a card, letter or a floral arrangement to say what you want to say but are not sure how to…
Message One: Heaven is Real
I wish I knew how to say exactly what I want to say but I know that mere words could never describe just how sorry I am, how heavy my heart is for you and how much you are loved. So instead, I want you to know that I am asking God to comfort you, to hold you and love you in ways that only He can do, assuring you that heaven is real… and its beautiful, wonderful and one day we will all be there together.
* Psalm 34:18 is a favorite verse for times of despair. Use it as a closer in a card for a comforting word.
Message 2: Love in Action
I want you to know that whatever you need, whenever you need it… I am here for you in whatever way I can be. Whether it is bringing dinner over, sitting in the silence, crying together, praying together or all of the above – I will be here today, tomorrow ans any day after that. Please call me and let me know how I can help.
Message 3: Short and Simple
I love you so much and I am praying for you, asking God to hold you tightly, to guide you strongly and comfort you each and every day during this difficult time.
While it may seem like a tiny act of kindness and not much in the grand scheme of a tragedy, messages of condolences are far more impacting than you might realize.
