Leaving a childminder, cleaner or tradesperson in your home can create a genuine need to check an entrance, hallway or piece of property while you are away.
The smallest camera is not automatically the right answer. Begin by defining the precise area and event you need to record, then consider power, lighting, storage and access to the footage.
A discreet device should never be treated as permission to film private activities. Bedrooms, bathrooms and changing areas are inappropriate locations, and recording other people should be limited to what the stated purpose reasonably requires. A clear purpose makes both the technical decision and the privacy decision easier.
