Colored Contacts in the movie industry:
With the advent of the modern movie-making techniques and technology creating to these movies, especially science fiction movies, a very big part of the whole production has called onto the shoulders of the makeup artists.
Firstly let us have a look at the role of the makeup artists that will supply you with your Colored Contacts ( CC )
- 1: BACK IN THE DAY: known usually as the runner for any of the main actors and at their mercy, try were there to make sure the actor or actress looks the best against the lights and or blemishes they might have.
- 2: THE MODERN MAKEUP ARTIST: here we have a person who not only studied what makeup to use where and when but can make you change from a thin short person into a tall fat person, using their case of magic tricks.
They have become so in demand on film sets, they are no longer the skivvies of the film industry (except when it comes to the newscasters who still treat them that way) hence many of them cutting their teeth in the newsroom and developing a” hard skin” of abuse by these newscasters then taking their talents to further limits on the film crews.
- 3: WHERE DOES THE CONTACT LENSES FALL INTO THIS: well, like all their tricks of the trade they will hone very little details that will get them ahead in the industry and that means if it comes to CC they will go for the proper training with medical professionals or under their supervision.
This will teach them to not only know which ones to use for which color and shape eyes but also what materials it should be made of ( permeable material that allows the eyeball to breathe ).
But it doesn’t stop there, CC can also be damaging if inserted incorrectly, is damaged or not taken cared of when stored, so they will take care of that for the actor or actress and even at times will teach them to do it themselves, though most are too vain to learn all that as they believe their lines and getting it right is more important.
- 4: Lastly they will also work hand in hand with “wardrobe” as the color and clothes worn can clash and cause discrepancies on the outcome of the movie especially if green screens are used.
