Terracotta is a ceramic material obtained by baking clay (or clay). It can be used to make pottery, sculptures and for the manufacture of building materials, bricks or tiles. Formerly brickmakers in 1891 in Albi, a region where clay is abundant, used for the construction of buildings of the time and houses, bridges. We will remain in this tradition and still work today this red clay, which is ours.
The word clay comes from the Greek, keramos, which means potter’s earth clay baked. We are totally committed to this tradition. Today, the term terracotta generally refers to a ceramic or porous pottery, as opposed to sandstone or porcelain which are glazed terracotta with negligible porosity. The resistance of the terracotta depends on its composition and its cooking temperature, which is why we cook it at high temperature, between 980 ° C and 1050 ° C.
We have also chosen to continue the work of clay because of its high porosity it is good for plants and for root development. We use a fine clay washed of any impurity, which offers characteristics which agree perfectly with Clarice Cliff Pottery and enamels.
A number of features are common to all the objects coming out of the workshops so that collectors can easily and immediately identify them. The implementation of this system is in line with the desire of the to fight counterfeiting effectively and to guarantee the consumer a quality support.
