Analyzing the relationship between people of different races is complex and often confusing. According to the Bible, all human beings are descended from Adam and Eve. This explanation can only be acceptable to Christians and practitioners of Judaism. This is because there is no evidence to back up this particular theory. In anthropology, history and forensics, different methods are used for kinship analysis. The experts in these fields look at a number factors to draw conclusions on the relationship between people in different societies. Below are methods used to determine ancestral connections and kinship analysis.
Anthropology
Experts in anthropology do not accept the religious view of relationship through Adam and Eve. Instead, these experts carry out extensive research and arrive at their conclusions from the outcome of the research they have conducted. Anthropologists collect information on migration, social practices, intermarriage and the relationship between various racial or ethnic groups to prove or disprove kinship. For example, extensive research on the Germanic tribes in Germany and Austria and parts of France prove that these people have an ancestral connection. The same applies to the Basques in Spain and the ones across the border in France.
History
History, anthropology and archaeology are related disciplines in the sense that they deal with humanities. Experts who are trying to establish authentic kinship ties usually fall back on the history of the people in question. In Nigeria, for instance, the Fulani tribe have a strong ancestral connection to the Fula and the Fulbe tribes in other parts of west Africa. This is because the ancestors of Nigeria’s Fulani people migrated from the Futa Djallon area in present day Senegal. The Igbo people of south eastern Nigeria claim to have Jewish origins. This is because the Igbo and the Jews seem to have a have a number of things in common. These similarities include circumcising male children on the eight day (even before the advent of Christianity), carrying dead people to the ancestral land for burial and the ability to work hard and save money.
Forensics
From the scientific perspective, kinship analysis can be proved or disproved using Forensics. In cases where there are doubts, genetic profiling is the right move. All it takes is a DNA test and the argument is over. These tests have a high degree of accuracy and this is why they are reliable.
Final Word
Kinship and ancestral ties can be confirmed if the right methods are used. Experts can use anthropology, historical links and forensics to prove or disprove human kinship.
