Cat 3 Rail Medical Yatala is Cat 3’s newest medical facility. Cat 3 Railway, an international railway company, has provided medical services to its employees since the early 1900s. Cat-3 was opened in 2004 and offers Cat-3 staff a range of medical services, including general practitioner consultations, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and pharmacy services.

Cat -3 also provides Employees with access to onsite allied health professionals such as physiotherapists (physiotherapy), podiatrists (podiatry), dieticians/nutritionists (dietetics). Cat employees can visit the center seven days per week at no cost for these services through an annual contribution by Cat Railway into its “wellbeing allowance scheme.” Cat-3 is an integral part of Cat Railway’s health and wellbeing strategy to improve health status, reduce absenteeism, and promote an early return to work.

2) What makes them unique?

Cat-3 is a unique medical center that provides Cat employees with an alternative to going into a public hospital for treatment. Cat Railway has many of its doctors and nurses who work at the Cat-3 Medical Center. Therefore Employees have access to excellent health care without having to wait in line or fight traffic.

Cat-3’s objective is not only about providing good healthcare but also creating awareness on how important it is to look after our health from early through prevention so we can prevent disease before it occurs by encouraging people to take responsibility for their physical well being and “live healthy lives every day.”

The center works closely with Cat railway management, unions, and staff members, which enables them all together to develop programs aimed at helping employees achieve their own health goals. Cat-3 is the only center that offers a dedicated Health Clinic which allows employees to get access to their Doctor and Nurse on site within 24 hours of requesting an appointment so Employees can be treated quickly without having to go through the hassle of getting past all the red tape. This also means Cat has less absenteeism, healthier people who are more productive at work, along with safer drivers because they feel better about themselves when they look good too!

The Future: Cat-3’s vision is to become one of Australia’s leading Personal Wellness Centers not just in Queensland but nationwide.

Cat-3 plans on expanding its services by offering training courses and seminars aimed at Maintenance staff and Cat Drivers. Cat-3 also plans to launch its smartphone app, which will allow Cat Transport Pty Ltd employees to book appointments, sign up for training courses, and access health tips via their smart devices.
